Elowen Flower Lamp Maple

There’s a softness to Maple that suits this handmade desk lamp perfectly. Its pale tone and fine grain give the petals a natural brightness, even before you switch on the light. When you’ve clicked the switch, the shade gently focuses the glow downward, just enough to light your desk without feeling too bright.
We shape each piece by hand in our Staunton Harold Estate workshop, employing traditional British carpentry techniques to build high-quality desk lamps. The upright is made from layers of maple, pressed into a smooth curve that rises from the base like a stem. We form the shade by cutting and bending fifty layers of veneer and attaching them to a base, turned on the lathe. It hangs on the desk lamp from a loop of hemp cord, letting the form speak for itself. We use responsibly sourced Maple, chosen for its quiet and gentle strength and warmth. This is a quality desk lamp made with care, and something calm and thoughtful to live with every day, and built to last for generations.
